Dear Friends and Family,
September was a wonderful but fast month starting with the
team from CC Aurora Colorado coming to serve at CC Johannesburg and ending with
the CC Africa Conference in Simonstown near Cape Town.
This evening I was able to catch the African golden sky,
then off to listen to Pastor Ed Taylor along with the team and our
congregation. The team had worked
so hard in Zandspruit, a local squatter camp, and also on the CC Johannesburg
property.
Brian and Lori Bowman, on the CC Aurora team (introduced to MV by the
Howard’s) had been praying for the project and that day we had gone to
Mountainview and looked at the temporary property that was offered for the
orphans and vulnerable children to meet on. Since then, I have had a difficult time getting the letter
needed to use the property.
Trusting GOD, I have left it in HIS hands to work it out and I will
continue to do outreaches and meet with the children as often as possible.
Three days after the team left, Pastor Mike and Theresa
Howard and children came to see a bit of Africa, Mountainview project, and the
CC Africa Conference. They were
welcomed by my pastor’s family. I had such a great time showing them different
areas. The Mountainview outreach
was on Saturday and Pastor Mike shared JESUS with the children as Gloria
translated into Zulu. Later the
family played games and spoke with the children and also helped give out food,
drink and at this outreach a special “sweetie” candy was given to the
kids. It was the last Saturday
before a weeks break from school.
Two of the Howard children and Pastor Mike played football
with the kids. I was able to leave
the new ball with the school that had been donated from the CC Aurora
team. The kids were so
excited. There are many more balls
being saved for them, as needed.
The only fields that they have are red dirt and rock but they have no
problem playing on them! Meanwhile Theresa and their youngest child spoke with
some of the children. We had a great outreach!
Off to Simonstown for the CC Africa Conference! It was truly
encouraging and a time to see old friends and meet new ones who are also
working in Africa as we went through the letter to the Philippians
together My extra excitement for
the trip was to see a whale, from afar, but so incredible to see a mammal that
huge swimming in an enormous ocean. Just breathtaking….so GOD.
Blessings and Love, Jan
Please pray for:
·
Mat 9:38 The LORD of the harvest to bring HIS
laborers to help the children
· Continued leading from the
LORD on HIS plans for the children
· For an indigenous Pastor to
be raised up for Mountainview area
· Children to learn more
about the LORD and good life skills too
· Vehicle decisions…keeps on
running but needs help!
Sounds like lots of great things happened with this visit. I pray you are feeling well, my friend.
