November Newsletter, Number 40, November 24, 2012

Dear Family and Friends,

JOHANNESBURG GENERAL : Sitting by the hospital bed of a young man praying for GOD to heal him but seeing the body and knowing that unless GOD does a miracle, he will go home very soon.  This is one real picture of why I came to serve JESUS CHRIST here in South Africa.

Seeing the devastation that all the death has created 3.87 million (newest stats) orphans here in SA. I believed that GOD wanted these orphaned children to be in families that would provide them with a second chance.  GOD sets the solitary into families Psalm 68:6a. Only HE is the one that opens the doors.  Oh, we can push and we can manipulate and we can make it look like it is coming together but only GOD can do it right, in HIS time and in HIS way.

Many, many doors have cracked open and then slammed shut.  It has been discouraging but I continue to walk forward, seeking HIM and asking for guidance.  Please come along side and pray with me.

The Ninety-nine and One from the outreach two weeks ago!

MOUNTAINVIEW:  On Saturday we had out last outreach for the year.  Kids are out of school soon and most of the children from CCCCC will go home to be with a distant relative for 5 weeks.  Then in middle of January the new school year will begin. At this outreach, we had about 500 children. We had planned to show the Children’s JESUS Film but sadly, due to poor electrical connections and temperatures of about 90 degrees, the children became uncontrollable and hungry. The principal called me and told me to stop trying to get the movie working and feed the children.  We got the children to line up outside and I was able to give the gospel and pray for the food.  Each child received the WORD and some food.  The LORD stretched the food.  Thank you JESUS!

We will make a plan to show the movie when it gets a bit cooler. Pro 16:9- A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his  steps.

CALVARY CHAPEL JOHANNESBURG :  I was asked to do the Childrens’ Christmas Play this year .We will do “The Gift”,  a sweet depiction of the meaning of Christmas.  This time of year many families travel for the holidays. We will lose about half of our children but it will leave enough for actors and a choir! As it turns out, I will be the grandmother in the play! I wanted another granny to do it but she is stage shy J Practice has begun and we will perform it on December 23rd.  I am praying that GOD will bless the children and their families.

METHODIST CHURCH:I was given the opportunity to share with the Women’s Auxillary from one of the local Methodist Churches.  These women have been serving the LORD for so many years and I came to encourage them and left encouraged. Even in their late 80’s and 90’s they are still praying, knitting and giving to the neediest children.  They had so much to share with me.  I thank GOD for these lovely women.

Blessings and love,
Jan

Special Note:  The young man that I have been praying for, Ben,  went to be with JESUS yesterday.  He was full of hope and dreams, worked hard to pass his matrix (H.S.) and a great help to the M.V.Outreaches. He will be remembered and missed. Please pray for his younger brother, also an orphan living in Fine town, next to Mountainview.

Please pray for:
·      LORD to bring HIS laborers to Mountainview, including an indigenous Pastor
·      GOD’S plans for Mountainview to come to fruition
·      Counsellor to be guided by GOD
·      CC Johannesburg Christmas Play
·      For me to keep my eyes on JESUS and my heart teachable.
