Johannesburg Newsletter Number 35, May 29, 2012

Yes, JESUS loves me!
Last Saturday was a day that I had eagerly waited for months. It
has been a mild winter but promise of a freezing one has been    evident recently. The children of Mountainview need help to stay warm.
GOD blessed us with socks, shoes, blankets and JESUS back sacks from C.C. Harrogate last year and they have been stored for
this day.  GOD also used a Muslim run store here in Johannesburg
to donate 50 blankets for the cause.  On top of that, our church,
C.C. Johannesburg donated many warm clothes and blankets.

I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N!

The winter outreach was shaping up and I was so excited.  Eleven people, counting me, were intending to go.  Two days before the outreach people started dropping out and by Friday I only had
 five people on the team!

On Friday I called the principal of the school in Mountainview,
just to make sure all was in order, and she said that plans had
changed and I should not come until noon on Saturday! I have
to admit that I was overwhelmed as all the items had been gone through and organized, food purchased, people in place…
it was disheartening! We had been praying all along for the
outreaches and especially this special one.

I called my Pastor Chad Naaktgeboren and he told me to pray
about what GOD would have me do.  I prayed and after
several hours I made the decision that if I was the only one to go,
those kids really needed blankets, and I would go!

So five of us were slated to go.  On Saturday morning I picked
up 120 buns for the hotdogs and went home to rest before the
outreach.  As I was resting, one of the five called me and said
that she was really sick and could not go! Now more determined
and convinced that GOD wanted us to continue with the project,
 now there were four!

This is the way you do it!
I went to our church and the truck that we were going to use did
not have gas.  That was the straw that broke the camel’s back
for me and I sat down, with tears in my eyes and prayed,
“GOD, I know that YOU want this outreach, what are we
supposed to do?  Shall I just cancel it because if YOU do not
want it to happen, I do not want it to happen. It is all YOU GOD.
 Help me to hear YOU.”

Pastor Chad let us use his Condor, which is like a small van.
We piled the crates, blankets, food, and drinks.  Stuffed the four
of us into our seats, stacked 120 buns on one of the guys laps
and took off. We were 15 minutes late and got a cold welcome
from the principal.  BUT GOD…this was HIS Dream Team and everything and more that I could have imagined came together.  I practically needed to stay out of the way of the other three.               GOD knew what HE was doing and I was humbled and repentant.

JESUS said, "Let the little children come unto ME."
Dynamic Duo!
Feed MY sheep!

Last but not least...blankets, socks and shoes!

What a fun day!
The lesson I learned is that I need to trust GOD for everything
and not ever think that I know what HE wants done.  HE had that Dream Team picked long before.  Almost 70 children received teaching on how JESUS said, “Let the little children come unto me".  They received lots of love and fun with worship and food and warm blankets, socks and even went home with JESUS back sacks that
they colored. It was quite a day and I learned so much.                      We were all blessed!
